Lazy Bee, Lazy Sunday

Lazy Bee’s favorite meal is tea break!

One month +

Sweet Adventure* is a little more than a month old! Our thoughts and ideas for SA* has been around for the longest time and we’re glad that we’ve finally ‘make it happen’. It’s still a very humble beginning for us but we’ve been enjoying what we’re doing, sharing the love of handmade goodies with people and building this little by little bit.

Sending out mails is our favourite and happiest thing to do and we hope it will bring a smile upon the receiver’s face when they got their mail. (:

While emptying our hole puncher, we found these little colourful dotties hiding inside. So we tried to put them to a good use..

Oh, we’re really upset that Lazy Bee went missing on the first day she reached New York. It’s a pity that it was such an abrupt end to her sweet adventures but let’s hope Lazy Bee will get to travel to America again soon! We really hope some nice soul will pick her up and google these five words, “Lazy Bee & Her Sweet Adventures” and somehow find us on the internet. Can’t stop wondering what has happened to Lazy Bee, sweet adventures that became mysterious adventures.

Testing out a new idea we have but we made a mess out of it. Opps! On our sketchbook was a little birdie made up of those tiny colourful dotties from our hole puncher.

A better result but we’re still experimenting. Do you like it?

And also, we sincerely thank our friends who have been supporting us and all the lovelies that has bought something from us and leaving positive feedback for us. We aim to bring more goodies to each and everyone of you! (:

Zoetrope

We’ve never really knew what a zoetrope is until we were at the Science Centre for Pixar : 20 Years of Animation exhibition. To us, the Toy Story zoetrope was one of the highlights of the whole exhibition. We had our fair share of fun ogling at the awe-inspiring drawings from the animators, how characters were developed and the work process in Pixar.

A zoetrope is a device that produces an illusion of action from a rapid succession of static pictures. The term zoetrope is from the Greek words ζωή – zoe, “life” and τρόπος – tropos, “turn”. It may be taken to mean “wheel of life”.

This is how it looks like when it’s not moving yet, once the strobe light is on, the wheel will spin real fast and it would create a 3D animation of the characters. It’s a beauty how they made this worked.

Our camera wasn’t good enough to capture the fantastic movement of the zoetrope and it would be more magnificent to see how it works in real life. You’ll see Buzz Lightyear trying to balance himself on a ball or Woody galloping away!

Oh, we also brought Lazy Bee along with us. We were handing her over to our friend, C, who’s leaving for America tomorrow! Before Lazy Bee embarks on her journey to New York, San Francisco and Arizona, she gets to go to our Science Centre for the first time.

Can you spot Lazy Bee? (:

We had a great time at the Pixar exhibition and sneakily took some pictures but it inspires us to draw more too! Now, we can’t wait for Toy Story 3 to be out.

Lazy Bees!

LazyBee

We made two more Lazy Bee for our friends!

Our very first Lazy Bee has finally gotten herself to London!! Now, we can’t wait for them to all come back and share those wonderful images of their sweet adventures. (:

*UPDATE* Our dear friend, E, sent us an email this morning of Lazy Bee with the famous Burj Al Arab (the Arab Sail)! Thanks to the flights disruption due to the volcanic ashes, Lazy Bee and E got to experience Dubai before making their way to Europe. More images soon!

Dear Eyjafjallajokull

eyjafjallajokull

Last week, Lazy Bee is supposed to embark on her first sweet adventure to Europe with our dear friend, E. Sadly, due to the volcanic ashes from Eyjafjallajokull, they are still stuck in Dubai. We were so worried about their well being in Dubai but we received an email from E today, and found out that they are all safe and putting up in a hotel with their meals provided. Oh, even without reaching London yet, Lazy Bee and E have already made two girl pals from London. E also told us that Lazy Bee has taken some photos with Dubai’s iconic landmarks!

Their Europe adventure may not happen (fingers crossed) but they get to experience Dubai in a different way. Maybe that’s a blessing in disguise?

This mess that mother nature has caused is somewhat beautiful. (Source)

Not quite a sweet adventure for Lazy Bee and E, but definitely something really memorable.

Lazy Bee & Her Sweet Adventures

Say H E L L O to Lazy Bee.

Lazy Bee & her sweet adventures*

She’s a character that we’ve developed for our series of postcards and now she’s taking part in a fun little project! Welcome to Lazy Bee & Her Sweet Adventures*. The idea is really simple, Lazy Bee has gotten the chance to travel to the world with some friends of Sweet Adventure*. Our friends will be bringing Lazy Bee to many wonderful places and will document their travel experiences. This time, Lazy Bee is lucky enough to be going Scandinavia! How exciting, isn’t it!

Lazy Bee at home, saying goodbye to her friends. Mr Owl is ignoring Lazy Bee because he’s so jealous that he isn’t the one leaving on the jetplane. Heh.

Lazy Bee & her sweet adventures*

Oh, Lazy Bee is a little vain pot. She loves pretty dresses and for this trip, she’s wearing her favorite pink cardigan and mixing several prints for her outfit. Blue stripes dress + black stockings with little red polka dots + a cute pink bow on her head!

A little more about Lazy Bee. She enjoys coffee breaks, won’t mind a slice of cake to go along with her drink. She likes to daydream and is always smiling. And most importantly, she loves her friends and family. :]

Lazy Bee says Goodnight! :)

Lazy Bee saying ‘Goodnight’ but truth is, she’s too psyched to be sleeping before her flight tomorrow!

We also received a sweet little note from Lazy Bee’s travel partner. We are so glad and thankful that Lazy Bee is in good hands and she’s gonna enjoy her trip, with her new found best friend. :]

Lazy Bee will be back from Europe in 3 weeks time and we will update her adventures as soon as possible!
