To the Land of Jeepneys!

Our dear friend, E, has brought Lazy Bee to another sweet adventure! This time, they were in land of Jeepneys, Bacolod City! Sounds a little confusing? Bocolod is in Philippines. E was there to attend her brother’s BEAUTIFUL wedding and let’s allow the pictures bring you a little piece of Bacolod!

The wedding was held at Bacolod’s oldest church, Bacolod Cathedral. Lazy Bee felt really happy to be there for the newly-weds!

Here at Sugarland Hotel (what an adorable name) was the place where E’s brother & sister in law met. Here’s the guard who dutifully open the door every day/night during their stay there. He seems to like Lazy Bee as well!

“One other thing famous attraction in Bacolod is “The Church of the Angry Christ”. You can go Wiki! It’s really pretty interesting how the piece of art work started and the meaning behind it.”

“One of Bacolod’s local delicacies is the Chicken Inasal! It means “chicken on skewers”. It’s really yummy and you have to eat it with soy sauce and vinegar! There are lots of store selling Chicken Inasal, and one of the better places is Chicken House!”

Bong Bong (another adorable name!) is a place where tourists go hunt for the local pastries and sweets and the best deal, they will pack everything nicely for you to make it much more convenient to bring in on board the plane.

E, who’s a teacher, took the chance to visit a school during her stay at Bacolod. They were having D&T lessons. Look at the local children and their smiles! They were such sweethearts who love the camera. Sincere happy smiles – priceless.

“Bacolod has really beautiful scenery!! During our road trip, Lazy Bee and I saw many mountains/volcanos, paddy fields, corn fields, sugarcane fields, big fluffy clouds and so much more!”

And we really like it when E said “No road trip with Lazy Bee is complete without great sounds from the trusty Itouch!”:)

We really want to say a big THANK YOU to E, who has brought Lazy Bee from Europe to Bacolod and always promptly emailing us the pictures with captions of their sweet sweet adventures together. It’s always beautiful to be able to learn more about places that we’ve never been to. Thank you, once again, our dear friend, for sharing your travels with us. It really mean alot to us!

It’s July!

Wowza, it’s July already! We haven’t been updating as we’re getting kinda busy with our day jobs and school. Anyhow, here’s some adventures that Lazy Bee was brought to!

We made a new Lazy Bee for our friend, Zhaoting, and she brought her to what we would think, “hidden treasures” in Singapore. Photos are taken by her but we had itchy fingers so we added some caption onto it.

Here’s the place to get one of the yummiest swiss rolls around!

Oh, here’s Lazy Bee on a trip to the Down Under!

It’s time to bring Lazy Bee out for some photo taking, one of them is leaving to Paris next Saturday!

Lazy Bee in KL & Melaka

KLM-1
Lazy Bee took a mini road trip to Kuala Lumpur and Malacca a couple weekends ago.

KLM-5
We were there to do some fabric shopping and we came back with some lovely Japanese fabrics, can’t wait to get our hands to make some new goodies. Not much pictures from KL but Malacca is such a beauty, we enjoyed our Peranakan dinner and those dusty vintage shops.

Night falls, shop at the Pasar Malam (night market) or grab a beer at one of those cosy pubs.

Do visit Malacca for its famous and really yummy Peranakan food and there’s this laid back appeal that greatly enchanted us.

Lazy Bee in Europe

Here’s our first Lazy Bee and her sweet sweet adventures in Europe. Her plans were slightly disrupted due to the volcanic activity that happened in Iceland, having to give up on travel plans to Sweden but had an accidental adventure in Dubai. Here’s some of the lovely pictures that our dear friend, E, captured during their adventures together.

Lazy Bee made some new friends too!
lazybee&friends

That was Lazy Bee in Bergen, Olso, Norway & London!

We are really thankful for E who has specially brought Lazy Bee along during her travels and documenting these wonderful images. It wasn’t quite a sweet adventure for this Lazy Bee ‘project’, flights were disrupted, Lazy Bee gone missing upon embarking her new adventure, we’ve made several Lazy Bees but here’s the only complete set that was documented. Even we harbored plans like making this into a series of postcards or a little story book/zine, it’s quite hard to do so with the lack of images. It doesn’t take a day to build Rome, hence, we hope to bring more interesting pictures of Lazy Bee and her sweet adventures soon! 🙂

Lazy Bee gone cruisin’

Cruise-10

Lazy Bee took a short break on a cruise to Redang island last weekend, it was her first time on board a mega ship. While she had fun basking in the sun, the clear waters and the fine sand, she doesn’t like the idea of overpopulated touristy area with exorbitant prices for mostly everything.

Lazy Bee’s favorite sport is swimming!

Waking up to a rainy morning, Lazy Bee was so afraid that the Redang trip will be canceled due to the bad weather.

Time to bask in the sun but UV rays can be so damaging, it’s better to pack sunscreen instead of suntan lotion. Enjoying a ice cold beer on the beach is really satisfying!

Blue skies, blue water. Magnificent colors.

Lazy Bee woke up at 6am to catch the sunrise but its beauty was partially covered by the clouds.

Not quite a fun trip but it’s always good to explore somewhere new. And Lazy Bee is looking forward to this long weekend too, going on a road trip!

Swimm Swimm!

We went for a dip in the pool a couple of days ago and we’re pleasantly surprised to find blue and red buntings at the pool! As we decided to give our sewing machine a break, we handstitched this tiny plushie at 2 in the morning. Sleepiness and handiwork doesn’t go well together.

Nonetheless, it’s the weekends!! Let your hair down and have fun, fun, fun. Oh, we’re bringing Lazy Bee on a sweet little adventure this weekend, will be back with new pictures! Enjoi!

Simple Desktop

We’ve never really liked the idea of a cluttered desktop and we chanced upon Simple Desktop. It is a collection of minimal distraction desktop wallpapers curated by Tom Watson. Here’s some of our favourites.

STPI Open House

Yesterday, we spent our afternoon at Singapore Tyler Print Institute getting our hands dirty trying out woodblock, silkscreen, lithography, etching and paper making. So much fun!

We never knew that STPI has such a huge workshop with the all the machines and equipment ready, the closest we had was the silkscreen room back in school days. We kept thinking, “if only we can access these machines as and when we want, we can make so much paper goodies out of it.”

The theme for this open house, Tiger. Rwar!

Etching

Paper making and learning how to paint swiftly on the wet wet wet paper.

Lithography

The goodies that came out from it, all waiting to dry.

Here’s our favorite artwork, the details on it is amazing.

We also brought Lazy Bee along but we didn’t manage to take much pictures as she was acting shy.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s open house. It’s really nice seeing parents bringing their kids to have a hands-on experience of printmaking. Haven’t had such a wonderful Saturday in awhile. (: More to come!

More Lazy Bees
